Ever wondered how to edit videos like a pro?

I signed up to become an Adobe Certified Professional in Digital Video Editing to find out.

The course involved 8 weeks of instructor-led training in Adobe Premiere Pro. There was a brief introduction into the basics of the software - how to set up the workspace and what all the buttons do - before we delved into how to complete specific tasks in the programme.

After our intial tutorials, each week we were set a variety of editing challenges to complete within short timed conditions. This ranged from overlaying video footage, to remixing audio and applying effects.

THERE'S AN ALPACA OUTSIDE: One of our challenges was to use the ultrakey effect to overlay a different background in the windows of a moving car.

Later in the course, we had to download an additonal programme which would set an editing task and then monitor every step we took to achieve the finished piece, passing or failing us on each element. This was a practice for our final exam, which lasted an hour and was sat under invigilated conditions.

I passed my final exam with 982/1000 marks and am now officially an Adobe Certified Professional.
