For my final semester at Falmouth University, I produced and presented a weekly radio show called 'Toss the Cap' alongside a team of third-year journalism students.
We interviewed a range of guests, from freelance business coaches, to influencers and recent graduates - all with the aim of helping our listeners to demystify life after graduation.
The show was broadcast live on Source FM, a community radio station serving Falmouth and Penryn, but also available to stream internationally.
Over the course of a few weeks, I aimed to experience as many different roles within the studio as possible, including:
Presenting and live interviewing
Producing (driving the mixing desk, cueing in presenters, live interviewees, and packages)
Researching and scripting episodes
Creating audio packages aligning with weekly themes
Recording and editing our jingle intro for the show
Designing graphics and posters
Setting up our YouTube livestream and Soundcloud accounts
Live broadcast always involves an element of adapting to unfolding events on the day. Although we had been responsible for alternating weeks, I stepped in at the last-minute to produce the final episode of the series alongside a different broadcasting team.

I presented our first episode to launch the series, then produced episodes 3 and 5 whilst contributing to packages, research and scripting.
